c5 - mint, no scratches, rarely played
c4 - excellent, few if any scatches 
c3 - reasonable, normal wear as expected
c2 - poor, but playable
c1 - badly worn, many scratches, maybe damaged (indicated)

This list has resulted from what I perceive as being a ‘rare' record. I have no specific evaluation criteria for what is ‘rare' or not, but they are certainly old, and/or unusual. I am refering here to the label rather than the musical content.
