CHAPPELL

THE ‘CHAPPELL' RECORD

Chappell & Co. Ltd., 50 New Bond Street, London.

The only information I have is on this one record label in the collection.

L095  c3 THE "CHAPPELL" RECORD  Chappell & Co. Ltd., London.
No.11.  CHARMEUSE   (R. Coningsby Clarke).  The Chappell Symphony Orchestra. Conductor Mr Arthur Wood.
No.11.   UNA  (Paul A.Rubens).  Music from 'The Girl from Utah'.  Ibid.

By its design I'd say it is a very old label, probably 1910s. If I remember rightly, ‘Chappell' is a music music publisher, but maybe not in the early days of the pressing listed here. There was also a Chappell Piano Co. Ltd., of 50 New Bond Street, London. (See Brunswick-Cliftophone label L12-036).   Field [F] lists three Chappell's, one green, one black as above, and one blue, but with no information whatsoever.

Note: Not to be confused with the American label ‘Chappelle and Stinnette', which is listed in Rust [R] as a a negro husband-wife singing act.
