AUSTRAL

Wocord. Manufactured by World Record (Australia) Pty Lyd, of Brighton, Melbourne. The Austral Duplex record was regarded as unbreakable, it being very thick with a base made of wood, with a thin veneer of vinyl on each side. I understand this was as a result of material shortages during the Second World War. It was an 8-inch record, with catalog numbers 1 to 68, released in 1925.

Listed by Miller [M]. Not listed in Miller [J] hence does not appear to have included any Australian jazz.
