W., born Chicago, 1903. Cousin was Buster Bailey from whom he took lessons.
Joined Bernie Young's (trumpet) band at Columbia Tavern, Chicago, and made
first records with him in 1923 doubling on tenor on Dearborn Street Blues.
Recorded with Louis Armstrong and others. Stomp Evans (alto) on label listed
by Chilton as Stump Evans, born Paul Anderson Evans in 1904. Died 1928.
